洋子的困惑

　　上海法租界老城区发生一起凶杀案。案发现场除了死者财叔外，还有受伤昏迷的上海华声广播电台播音员蓝妙如。蓝妙如双目失明，长期租住在财叔的房子里，与财叔常有往来。凶杀案发生后，巡捕房探长陈亨利带儿子陈天生出现场勘察。从现场勘察的结果和蓝妙如苏醒后的回忆推断，天生认为凶手应该是两个人，而蓝妙如就是“目击者”。
　　蓝妙如是陈探长夫人的崇拜偶像。蓝妙如出院后被陈太太接到自己家，安排在儿子天生的房间。从蓝妙如就餐时的反应和黑暗处时的神情来看，天生觉得蓝妙如作为“目击者”似乎有些问题。妙如稍有好转就到电台上班，借助媒体记者的关心，蓝妙如规劝凶杀案的两名凶手投案自首。
　　媒体的报道激起凶手江涛和豹子的气愤，也为蓝妙如招来杀身之祸。月上树梢，回到财叔公寓的蓝妙如遭到袭击，现场留下公寓底下开赌场的方文华的尸体。财叔的案情还没有进展，方文华又遭谋杀，而且现场遗留物显示凶手为同一个人作案，给父子探长造成压力。
　　方文华的死，引起天生对蓝妙如的更大怀疑。拜访蓝妙如，天生发现妙如的父亲生前是名忠义爱国的建筑设计师，十年前因一笔救灾款遭人杀害。随着天生的侦察和推理不断接近真相，凶杀也在不断进行，与蓝妙如所说的十年前救灾款有关的梁秀峰、豹子、江涛相继遇害。
　　经过缜密侦察和科学推理，天生果断结案，将一手策划财叔遇害、并亲手杀害方文华、梁秀锋、江涛的蓝妙如捉拿归案。原来，十年前蓝妙如的父亲因保护救灾款遭建筑包工头财叔一伙杀害后，当时年幼的蓝小玉因伤害双目失明。五年前，蓝小玉恢复视力，化名蓝妙如，着手复仇，策划谋杀。案情真相大白，蓝妙如在监狱服毒自杀，留下人们对于忠义、复仇与犯罪的深深思考，对蓝妙如主持的“美丽人生”节目的无限思念。

　　ISSAC is an intense psychological thriller which constantly treads the lines of reality and fiction. Issac, A young reclusive mortician who inherited his stepfather's mortuary business meets a friendly waitress, Cassi. The two create an instant connection and after a night of terror, they pursue a revenge murder together. This film mixes a realistic story with surreal imagery, showing how one in isolation may operate due to the circumstances he has been given. Issac inevitably makes a choice and never questions the morality of his decisions.

　　Beginning with a pivotal encounter between two men in Goiás in the 1980s, director Daniel Nolasco weaves a narrative that spans across time and, perhaps, multiple dimensions, driven by the intense forces of desire and love, as well as the suffocating weight of repression and silence. Nolasco, who was featured in Olhar’s Focus section during the pandemic, continues his distinctive and undefinable journey with a radically queer cinema that refuses to look away from the often paradoxical physical expressions of both desire and violence.
