　　在5×01《Gap Year》中，Dre和Bow将Junior送到华盛顿的霍华德大学后不久，Junior突然回家宣布自己将休学一年（或者说「间隔年」），这让他们感觉十分担心。Junior整天无所事事，于是Dre强迫他到广告公司和自己一起工作。Junior居然取得了一定程度的成功，这让他对大学的信念开始动摇：我真的有必要去上大学吗？与此同时，双胞胎Jack和Diane产生一个疑问……他们是否该继续共处一室？他们现在是中学生（七年级）了，但他们的社会地位和以前完全不一样。Bo在她那个疯狂的工作场所交了一些新朋友，甚至是铁杆盟友。
　　第五季的故事时间向前跳跃了三个月，Dre和Bow不仅挽救了婚姻，而且现在过得还不错。
　　本季会有另一个警察主题集，如同2016年《Hope》这集。虽然这集的内容不一定涉及白人警察对黑人平民滥用暴力，但是这集肯定会说黑人内部的矛盾心态——Andre试图向警方举报社区出租屋内可能存在的不法行为，但他的街坊邻里都是黑人，这让他心态复杂。
　　11月13日的新集将是该剧第100集，制片人承诺这集会给观众留下深刻印象。他们将进行另一次大胆尝试，就像第四季首集的做法。根据已知消息，这集将向传奇音乐人Prince致敬，感谢他对剧中Johnson一家的重要影响。这集会有大篇幅的音乐剧元素，Prince的经典歌曲《Kiss》、《When Doves Cry》、《Let’s Go Crazy》将以某种形式出现在剧中。

　　Hannah Fry visits eBay's authentication centre, where they are waging war against fake high-value trainers. She also discovers how American breakfast waffles transformed our trainer soles.

　　史蒂夫的任务是调查一位名为托尼（连尼·詹姆斯 Lennie James 饰）的侦缉总督察，他因为涉嫌贪污而被列入了监视的名单。史蒂夫和女警探凯特（薇琪·麦克卢尔 Vicky McClure 饰）一同打入了托尼所领导的小组内部，史蒂夫却意外的发现，凯特还有另外一重秘密的身份。

　　勒布朗·詹姆斯将再次涉足影视圈，他的公司SpringHill Entertainment将制作一部剧集，奥克塔维亚·斯宾瑟正洽谈出演。该剧根据A’Lelia Bundles小说《在她自己的领域》(On Her Own Ground，暂译)改编。讲述企业家、社会活动家C·J·沃克女士不平凡的一生。妮可·亚瑟担任编剧，[黑暗的降生]导演卡斯·莱蒙斯执导。据悉，Netflix已有意购买。

　　该剧跟随1923年的另一代达顿家族，他们经历包括西部扩张、禁酒和大萧条在内的各种困难时期，他们要为克服当时的种种艰辛而奋斗。

　　由Matthew Weiner主创﹑执笔﹑制片﹑执导的首季8小时诗选剧《罗曼诺夫后裔》，以全球各地的独立故事联系在一起，每个故事中都有相信自己是罗曼诺夫后裔的人（罗曼诺夫是俄罗斯的一个王朝，曾有多位沙皇，而因为血统问题，令到出现血亲争议）。该剧预定明年上线。
