　　故事发生在风景如诗如画的圣巴巴拉，肖恩（詹姆斯·罗德 James Roday 饰）出生于警察世家，毫不意外地，身为刑警的父亲亨瑞（柯宾·伯恩森 Corbin Bernsen 饰）将未来的希望全部寄托在了儿子的身上，希望他能够子承父业。从很小的时候起，亨瑞便开始有意识的训练肖恩的观察力和逻辑推理能力，所以，当肖恩逐渐长大成人之时，他依然具备了以生俱来的刑侦能力。
　　对于别人来说，肖恩所展现出的种种才华无异于是“特异功能”，但只有肖恩自己知道，这些才华给他带来了多少的压力和负担。然而，最终，在好友古斯（杜勒·希尔 Dulé Hill 饰）的影响和帮助之下，肖恩还是走上了刑侦的道路。

　　ABC宣布续订《实习医生格蕾》第19季。和第18季一样，ABC没有宣布这会是最终季，或是Ellen Pompeo出演的最后一季。
　　Krista Vernoff继续担任运作人。Ellen Pompeo则签订了一年期限的全新合约，并将在新季中从联合执行制片升级为执行制片。
　　此外，剩余的初始演员Chandra Wilson和James Pickens Jr.据悉签订了多年合约，其中就包括第19季。

　　《处女情缘》Gina Rodrigue领衔的ABC新单镜头喜剧试映集《老娘还没死》（Not Dead Yet）获得正式预订，将作为2022-23播出季新剧开播。
