　　在这部充满曲折的犯罪剧集中，一个有着黑暗秘密的小镇殡仪员试图保护家人，防止一场巨大的阴谋伤害到他们。

　　故事始于2011年。一名杀害年轻女人的杀人狂让首都陷入恐慌，大尉米哈伊尔·索洛维约夫警官追踪这名杀人狂已经两年多。在一次逃避追捕过程中，杀人狂用汽车将索洛维约夫撞倒在地。醒来后，索洛维约夫发现自己穿越回了1979年的苏联。虽然不知道自己身上到底发生了什么，苏联警察索洛维约夫正努力地适应周遭的新环境，同时也在试图找出自己穿越的原因。

　　在德国 - 奥地利边境，在山口上发现了尸体。德国调查当局正派遣Traunstein的年轻专职委员Ellie Stocker ，对她来说这是她职业生涯中的第一个重大挑战。但她的奥地利同行，愤世嫉俗且不那么忠诚的检查员Gedeon Winter，最初对合作兴趣不大。
