Small Town, Big Story has started filming on location in Ireland under a UK Equity contract and follows goings-on in Drumbán, a rural village of rattled misfits. When a major Hollywood production rolls into town, a spotlight is thrown on a secret that has been kept hidden since the eve of the Millennium. Hendricks (Mad Men) is playing Wendy Patterson, a local girl done good as a hot-shot television producer, who returns to her hometown from LA with the Hollywood production in tow, while House of the Dragon’s Considine is local doctor and pillar of the community Seamus Proctor.
In the four months since Joey Salvo's assassination, Simone is working odd jobs since he has been suspended by Internal Affairs pending their investigation, while he approaches Sipowicz asking about his and others incitements by the FBI who think that Salvo's death was an inside job within IAB, and Lt. Shannon from IAB tells Lt. Fancy that he may know the person who killed Salvo.
Each week viewers see the gritty reality of life in a New York City Police unit as the officers go about their work with a grim determination. Two partners, Detectives Andy Sipowicz and John Kelley (later replaced by Bobby Simone), are the central characters in this weekly police drama, and personify very different approaches to their difficult job. Sipowicz's brash gruffness (covering an emotional vulnerability) is tempered by the precise and controlled demeanor of the two partners with whom he has worked.
Bergerac will be based on the original series created by Robert Banks Stewart, which starred John Nettles and ran for nine series on the BBC between 1981 and 1991. The modern re-imagining will honour the iconic detective drama, but with a contemporary twist, as Bergerac thrown into a knotty, high-stakes police investigation and challenged to his very core. He will be forced to confront his demons, while trying to save his family and career. Unlike the original hit from the 80s, the new series will see one character-led murder mystery run across all six episodes, in place of a new storyline each episode.
